Well great news we have added a Tour of Gillman Speedway to Day 5 of MRW meet at 10am at the venue 65 Wilkins Rd Gillman Morning tea will be available.
We are working on finishing off this year’s FOMsa Motorcycle Ride Week with a Fund raising FOMsa “Ride for Research” Poker Run. Details are being finalised. I can tell you we will start & finish at the same point with three stops on the way. With cash and prizes to be won on the day. So get a group together and enter it promises to be a great day out for a good cause.
Day one of this year’s Motorcycle Ride Week will be hosted by the Adelaide Hills 59 Club. This will include a ride to the V&V Swap meet at Balhannah then continue on to Barossa Vintage Collingrove Hill Climb. Entry to both fixtures is included in your MRW entry registration. Your headlamp entry sticker will see you enter at no charge and you will be directed to the designated parking area for FOMsa. Further details will be posted once registrations are open.

This year’s FOMsa Motorcycle Ride Week will have some changes, first is to Monday 2nd October. It will now feature the COMCC River Ramble, at this early stage of Planning we are proposing to leaving Civic Park Tea Tree Gully at 9.30am heading for Mannum then north to Purnong river crossing back to Mannum and on to Murray Bridge for Lunch at the Riverside Park then on to Wellington Crossing the River heading to Strathalbyn for afternoon tea then home to Adelaide. We ran a similar ride in 2021 concluding at Murray Bridge.
This year we are fortunate to have Jason O’Halloran returning to MC the Night of Champions. we are looking at 4 guests from Speedway, Observed Trials, Land Speed Record, and the bLU cRU to entertain us with their experiences pursuing the dream. Tickets will go on sale in August with prices set at Juniors under 16 $30 Adults $40 1st drink and supper included. tickets are limited so you will have to be fast when they go on sale.
British Motorcycle Day was a great success for all those attended. Let’s make it bigger & better next year.
Festival of Motorcycling Ride dates set- 1-7 October 2-23
Night of Champions set for Wednesday 5th October at the Adelaide Speedboat Club Gillman.
We have a ride to The SA Police Historical Society Museum on Sunday 19/3/23 we have three meeting sites to start the ride. Southern Riders will meet at McDonalds car park at Darlington , North Eastern riders will meet at Civic Park NE Road Modbury, Western Riders at Harts Mill Mundy St Port Adelaide. Gather at 9.00 am for 9.30 start. We have arranged parking within the Thebarton Police Barracks off Gaol Rd.
Entry to the Museum is $10 per person. After museum visit those interested can ride on to Semaphore for Coffee & a bite of Lunch at UCB Cafe 47 Semaphore Rd.
Together our great South Australian Motorcycle Clubs have established the FOMsa – SAHMRI PhD Student’s Medical Research Bursary Fund. The objective of the fund is to raise funds to be used as an annual monetary grant. To be used to purchase equipment and provide Lab time to assist in the field of study of the recipient.
It is our aim to foster our brightest young talents and keep them here in South Australia, giving them an opportunity to establish themselves as research leaders into a diverse range of medical disciplines.
With your help & support we are sure we can succeed.
FOMsa stage a number of events providing opportunities for the motorcycle community to come together. To enjoy their passion for showing and riding their machines. We encourage interaction between all the diverse range of clubs. When they come together and enjoy a great day out.
FOMsa is committed to work to improve our community, one of our initiatives is the FOMsa – SAHMRI PhD Medical Research Student Bursary Fund. Our events focus on raising money to assist the next generation of the best and brightest students with their work.
FOMsa events will take you on some of the best roads around South Australia. During the Festival in October we have rides covering the Barossa Valley, the Adelaide Hills, the Southern Vales & Fleurier Peninsula the Mid North and Murray Lands. If you can join us you wont regret the experience!
