Well the Winter swap meet was a great success with over 40 sellers and 400 buyers. we will be doing our shake down on the event soon and work on improving the format for 2025
Only 12 days to go till the first FOMsa Undercover winter swap meet. We have had a good response from sellers but we do have pace for more, so go on register! for only $10 for a site including entry for one seller what have you got to loose. follow the links on the events tab to reach the registration form. Now don’t forget McQueen’s Tavern for a great lunch on the day. Get a group together and come for a ride down & check it out.
Registrations are progressing nicely with a steady stream of sellers booking their spot. We have a number of volunteers but if can help in the afternoon please register. Well it is with great enthusiasm that we can announce that after a great deal of effort on the part of the FOMsa committee. We have managed to secure an under cover site for the first FOMsa Winter Undercover Swap Meet. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Board & Management team at Greyhound Racing SA for seeing the value in the great work we do to raise money for medical research here in SA. The provision of the undercover area at their Angle Park facility goes a long way to make this event a success from the onset. so please give us your full support.
All proceeds to medical research here in South Australia.

Please note that the FOMsa AGM will be held on 7.30pm Wednesday May 8th. at Shannon’s Club room Main South Rd. All committee positions will be declared vacant. All affiliated clubs are requested to send representatives and are eligible to stand for any of these positions. If your Club is interested in becoming affiliated with FOMsa and would like to learn more please email events@fomsa.org so we can send you an information package. Listing prerequisites, benefits & responsibilities of affiliated clubs.
The positions to be filled are:- Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Media Officer, Event Coordinator, website editor, & General Committee members(Club representatives).
The Gillman Speedway Night was a great success, with a great crowd enjoying the last competitive event for the 23/24 season. A big thank you to the volunteers manning the Presidents Room on the night, you did a wonderful job with a warm welcome to all out crew.
NEWS FLASH – planning for our winter indoor swap meet has hit a stumbling block, we were unable to get confirmation on the first venue for the dates we were looking at in June 2024, we are working on a new venue the time line to get the word out has now become short. so stay tuned and be ready to act once we have locked on in. Rest assured we are still working on the event it will definitely happen in 2025.
Note our next FOMsa event will be the “Mill to Mill” Poker Run. we will be using the successful formula from last year’s Ride week event. So we are sure all those who enjoyed that event will saddle up again for this year’s event
Work has commenced on the planning of our first indoor FOMsa Winter Swap Meet for motorcycles only. It is scheduled for sometime in May June 2024 . We are keen for your feedback. We have set up a contact email address winterswapmeet@fomsa.org
So please let us know if you are interested in a site for a Club display, vendor stall or trade stall/display. There will be food vendors & music for all to enjoy. We are working on site fee structure.
An entrance fee $5 for the general public will apply as this, along with all our events is a fundraiser for the FOMsa/ SAHMRI bursary fund.
This year’s European Motorcycle Day Was a success despite the hot weather! it is reported we had over 250 machines on display and three times that call in to visit. We estimate over 1000 people visited to the event over the course of the day. The Show and Shine was well represented and we had many happy trophy winners.
All being well we will reprise the event next year.

Great news, as you are aware there have been road works on the bridge adjacent to the main entry to the Oval. We have been informed that Traffic Management officers will be on hand to regulate traffic flow and override the automated traffic light system to speed up the entry of Rider groups to the Oval.
All is going well with the planning for EMD, but please note there have been road works on the bridge over Junction Creek adjacent to the main entrance to the grounds. Some traffic management measures may still be in place so we advise to use great care when entering & exiting the grounds. your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
FOMsa stage a number of events providing opportunities for the motorcycle community to come together. To enjoy their passion for showing and riding their machines. We encourage interaction between all the diverse range of clubs. When they come together and enjoy a great day out.
FOMsa is committed to work to improve our community, one of our initiatives is the FOMsa – SAHMRI Medical Research Student Bursary Fund. Our events focus on raising money to assist the next generation of the best and brightest students with their work.
FOMsa events will take you on some of the best roads around South Australia. During the Festival in October we have rides covering the Barossa Valley, the Adelaide Hills, the Southern Vales & Fleurier Peninsula the Mid North and Murray Lands. If you can join us you wont regret the experience!
Together these great South Australian Motorcycle Clubs have established the FOMsa – SAHMRI Student’s Medical Research Bursary Fund. The objective of the fund is to raise funds to be used as an annual monetary grant. To be used to purchase equipment and provide Lab time to assist in the field of study of the recipient.
It is our aim to foster our brightest young talents and keep them here in South Australia, giving them an opportunity to establish themselves as research leaders into a diverse range of medical disciplines.
